Gold River Visitor Centre
Located at the entrance to Gold River on Hwy 28, the Gold River Visitor Centre is housed in a beautiful heritage building. This is a great place to stop and stretch your legs after the long trip across the island. Full washroom facilities, pay phone, sani-station and potable water, directional and business signs. The Visitor Centre has lots of free information and maps for Gold River, Tahsis and Nootka Sound. You can learn about all the things to do in town and tourist locations nearby.
A pamphlet you should pickup is called "Tahsis - The Road to Adventure" which contains a wide-range of information between Gold River and Tahsis, everything from hiking the
Nootka Trail, exploring the
Upana Caves, Windsurfing, Kayaking and more!
We also recommend getting the "Gold River, Jewel of the Isle" which is also free. Its a small paper book produced by the Village of Gold River and contains lots of information about local businesses, history of Gold River and directions to popular tourism locations.
