Luhr Jensen Coyote Spoon Both the Wonderbread (3 1/2) (766) and Copcar (3 1/2) (108) have been proven to be a success again this year as well as recent years. We recommend changing the hooks as the stock hooks don't always stand up against the hard hitting salmon in Nootka Sound. You can pick up a number of similar spoons as well if your local tackle shop doesn't have these available.

Hot Spot Fish Flasher - Glow Green There are hundreds of flashers on the market, but the standard Hot Spot Glow Green (160) Flasher has caught more fish then any other flasher tested. The green flasher also has an increased chance catching bottom fish because both rockcod and lingcod are often attracted to the color green.

Boone Squid Skirts There are thousands of different brands of squid lures, such as hoochies and boone squid skirts. Many different color combinations are successful, including White, Purple Haze and Copcar. You can purchase many great lures at any local fishing tackle shop. Green squirts and hootchies are catching fish in Nootka Sound as of June 2011, so these will likely be the lure of choice this summer.

Teaser Heads Teaser Heads, manufactured by Vancouver Island based company Rhys Davis, are extremely popular for good reason. There are several heads available in multiple color combinations work with both bait and the new Baitrix. Available at your local tackle store! We highly recommend picking up the Purple Haze or anything with green in it.

Cabela's Iridescent Spoon The sparkling, iridescent foil finish has outstanding reflective qualities. Its prismatic shimmering effect is highly visible even in heavily stained water.

Brad's Super Bait Cut-Plug – Rigged Split-cavity design permits you to add scent or a bait fillet directly to the plug. Spinning, rotating action attracts hungry salmon and the scent provokes strikes. Effective on all species of salmon. The back of the lure is full or partial UV glow. The cut-plug is best used for trolling, but can be effectively used for casting, plunking or back-bouncing.

Luhr Jensen Lighted J-Plug A water-activated strobe light in the tail section will catch the attention of fish when visibility is restricted by depth, low light and darkness. Guaranteed to work at depths of up to 150 ft. Battery lasts 400 hours. This color combination on the spoon was also extremely productive for many fishing guides in the area.
